Combining strategic messaging + visual creativity
As a professional, my work on large-scale, persuasive communications began as a community organizer. This work connected me with strategists whose next effort I joined, working as a videographer. I enjoyed the shift from verbal to visual and technological communications right away.
That newfound enjoyment drove me to pursue a graduate degree in Film & Electronic Media at American University. While pursuing my degree, I also created visual branding, video, strategic messaging, and more for the American Library Association. The intense period of combined professional and academic challenges further developed my sense for crafting messages and stories, along with the skill for conveying them through visual media—often under tight deadlines and with short notice.
In 2014 I relocated from the East to West Coast. The next stage of my creative and strategic work is off to a strong start, with opportunities to create branding video and graphic design for a private company with purpose, in addition to freelance and volunteer work for small businesses and non-profits.
